Project Description
In 2018 Hyde Housing Association embarked on a disposal programme for a range of 1-4 bedroom properties across London and the South East. Tier 1 contractor ENGIE selected DCK to undertake the refurbishment work over a 90 week period.
The properties were batched based on location to maximise efficiency with the initial two batches comprising 17 and 19 properties respectively. Further batches followed in due course over the contract period. At peak DCK was opening 20 properties a month.
The scope of work in each property varied from a relatively simple clear out, redecoration and new floor coverings through to complete renovation of the whole property including new kitchen and bathroom, electrics and central heating in addition to decorations and flooring.
DCK was provided with a property list and carried out a full site survey inspection / measure to arrive at a priced property document. DCK in turn an agreed maximum price based upon an agreed Framework Schedule of Rates with the Tier 1 contractor and Hyde Housing Association for all internal and external refurbishment works. The total property costs were agreed with the client for works to commence and complete within a five week programme of work per property.
